In our church the pastor mainly develops four functions:
1 – Leading the church services
2 – Representing the church
3 – Preaching and teaching
4 – Pastoral Counseling
In his rol he is helped by a group of deacons elected by the members of the church.
Along these years, our church has had the following pastors:
Federico Dixon Jones
He was an English missionary. He and his compatriot Henry Payne evangelized in the lands of Lleida and Aragon in the last years of century XIX. Dixon was supported by a mission from the Plymouth Brethren of Sussex (England).
In Barcelona he rented a mezzanine in Blasco de Garay Street (in the neighborhood of Poble Sec) in the 1930s and was the Pastor of the congregation that met there. In addition, he worked like colporteur distributing Bibles and evangelical literature, but when the Spanish Civil War began they seized his “biblical car” to convert it into an ambulance.
Fermín Roca
He had been an elder when the congregation met in Blasco de Garay Street. During his pastorate he was accompanied by the young Daniel López, who would become a pastor as time passes.
Daniel López
Born in Águilas (Murcia). He married Mercedes Gómez and they had two sons and one daughter.
In 1942 he took the pastorate until 1970. During his ministry he welcomed and encouraged to serve the Lord some young people who later became pastors, such as Miguel García García (La Torrassa Church in L’Hospitalet) and Antonio Martínez Conesa (Passatge Gaiolà Church in Barcelona).
He was one of the constituent members of the Association of Ministers of the Gospel of Catalonia (AMEC, in Spanish) on February 9, 1956, and member of the board on several occasions.
He was also one of the founding pastors of the Federation of Independent Evangelical Churches of Spain (FIEIDE, in Spanish). Nine churches were united in an act celebrated in our church in January of 1957. Today this Federation is constituted by 77 churches and a total of 100 places of worship in 11 autonomous communities.

Daniel López was replaced in the pastorate by his son Pedro.
Pedro López
Born in Barcelona on August, 25, 1933, he lived his childhood in the middle of the Spanish Civil War. He alternated his studies with those of the Municipal Conservatory of Music.
In his youth he dedicated himself to the ministry of music. At age 14 he organized a choir at church, which he led for many years. At 17, he formed the quartet “Voces de Júbilo (Voices of Joy)” with his brother José and his cousins Pedro and Antonio, and also the “Grupo Avivamiento (Revival Group)”.
On December 8, 1956, he married Anita Vaquer, and they had two sons and one daughter.
He has collaborated with several evangelical entities. On January 17, 1961, he joined the Association of Ministers of the Gospel of Catalonia (AMEC, in Spanish). He also presided over the Governing Council of the Residence for the Elderly of FIEIDE, in Reus (Tarragona).
In 1970 he replaced his father as Pastor of the church.
Benjamín López
At the retirement age of Pastor Pedro López, our church chose his nephew Benjamín as copastor (March 2005). A few years later (October 2013), the church appointed him Pastor.
Benjamín López holds a degree in Geography and History from the Universitat de Barcelona. Professor of Geography and History in institutes. He is part of the faculty of the Evangelical Center for Biblical Studies (CEEB, in Spanish). Member of the Association of Ministers of the Gospel of Catalonia (AMEC, in Spanish).
